(EXCLUSIVE) Jay Z Pleads With Judge to Keep His Reported 150 Mill Dollar Live Nation Deal Out of Legal Battle
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Jay Z has returned to court pleading with a judge to not allow the terms of his reported $150 million dollar deal with Live Nation from being discussed in his upcoming trial over his hit song “Big Pimpin,” claiming it would ruin him by damaging all future negotiations with companies.
The rapper/music mogul has been battling a lawsuit over a sample he used in his hit song “Big Pimpin” since 2007. Osama Ahmed Fahmy – the heir to a 1960’s composer named Baligh Hamdy who created the musical composition ‘Khosara, Khosara” – filed suit claiming he licensed out his fathers song, but with a moral clause. He said that clause was violated when Jay Z used it in his song because he had included it in a song that glorified things his father did not stand for in his life.
Jay Z and his label argued they had obtained the right license and did nothing wrong. The legal battle has been going on for years and is still being fought in federal court.
