Film About Michael Brown Shooting In The Works

Michael Brown Film In The Works
A film about the murder of Michael Brown is in the works. According to a report, Warner Brothers Films is working on developing a movie about the tragic murder of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old unarmed teenager who was shot and killed by a policeman Officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014.
The film will be based on the memoir “Tell the Truth & Shame the Devil: The Life, Legacy, and Love of My Son Michael Brown” written by his mother Lezley McSpadden, with novelist Lyah Beth LeFlore. The studio is reportedly interested in making something tonally and thematically similar to “Crash” a critically acclaimed film, which started Larenz Tate, Ludacris, Terrance Howard, and Sandra Bullock. The film won the 2005 Academy Award for Best Picture.
A grand jury declined to indict police officer Wilson in the death of Brown, whose fatal shooting sparked weeks of violent protests and racial tensions between many African-Americans and police. Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCulloch said the jury of nine whites and three blacks met on 25 separate days over three months, hearing more than 70 hours of testimony from about 60 witnesses, including three medical examiners and experts on blood, toxicology and firearms.
