Omarosa’s Appearance At NABJ Receives Backlash: Everyone finds it offensive! + Omarosa Disputes Report
Omarosa’s Appearance At NABJ Receives Backlash
Omarosa’s appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists conference is said to be receiving some backlash. According to a report, drama ensued after organizers decided to add one of president Trump’s top aide – Omarosa Manigault – to a panel. A source states,
The majority there don’t want her involved. It’s heavy drama — even the moderator is refusing. Everyone sees it as extremely offensive.
We’re told journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones was scheduled to moderate a panel on police brutality on Friday. The panel was to include Valerie Castile, Sandra Sterling, and journalist Jelani Cobb. Reportedly, Hannah-Jones and Cobb pulled out of the panel. As a result, TV journalist Ed Gordon stepped in to serve as the event’s moderator. Cobb explains his reasoning for pulling out, stating:
[it] wasn’t simply the addition of Omarosa. It was that she was added at the eleventh hour and it was unclear whether we would be able to discuss substantive issues regarding the administration and its policing policies. Also, the panel was very disorganized, and basic things like format were not clear.
Meanwhile, Omarosa disputes this report stating that she’s in attendance to discuss her father and brothers murders. She took to Twitter, writing to TV host and journalist Joy Ann Reid,
@JoyAnnReid I am here@NABJ to talk about my father and brother’s murders. Do you have any decency? Do their “black lives matter”? ShameOnU!
