Brandy Responds To Issa Rae Transforming Into “Moesha”
Issa Rae is fresh off an interview and photoshoot with GQ Magazine. The inspiration behind her shoot came from portraying black television icons from the ‘90s. She showcased looks from Steve Urkel who starred in Family Matters, Will Smith from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Dwayne Wayne from A Different World, and Brandy from Moesha.
Currently, Issa Rae juggles with developing new shows along with writing and shooting for her current show, Insecure. During her interview, she hinted on why she started the highly buzzed series. She wanted her “own version” of black television, much like the ones before her created.
Singer/Actress Brandy caught wind of Issa’s photoshoot and sent a sweet message to her on Twitter. The tweet read,
Issa Rae, you’re such a beautiful spirit. Thank you for portraying me in your @GQMagazine shoot for #BlackTvIcons #MoEsha #blessing”
