Kanye Wants To Build A Fireproof Community
The Woolsey Fire in Southern California burned over 98,362 acres of land in over a week. Of those affected were Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who were able to evacuate their $60 million Calabasas mansion before the blaze made it their way. The couple also reportedly hired a private team to fight the fire near their home, which neighbors were thrilled about because in fighting the fire at the West house, the private team prevented the Woolsey fire from destroying other homes on their street.
Now that the coast is clear, Kanye has revealed that he’s interested in building a fire-proof community. He posted a brief message on Twitter Friday:
Kanye did not go into further explanation as to how he was going to achieve the non-flammable neighborhood but it’s a start.
Kanye has felt strongly about the fires since the evacuation. On November 10, he took to Twitter to thank responders and send condolences to anyone who was lost. He wrote:
My sincere condolences to everyone suffering from the loss of their homes, loved ones and the unknown certainty of how much damage the fires will have caused.
In light of these situations, I am so inspired by the firefighters and first responders who are risking their lives to do whatever they can to help. They are our true heroes. We must all come together during these difficult times to support each other
According to Kim, Kanye also reached out to Donald Trump after the president tweeted about the fires. On November 10, Trump tweeted:
There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!
According to Kim, Kanye wasn’t thrilled with the comments and text Trump to let him know. She says,
When he doesn’t agree with something like that fire comment he will screengrab [and] he will send it to the people close to [Trump] and say that maybe there should be a little more empathy in this.
