Dr. Dre Deletes Post Bragging Daughter Accepted To USC “All On Her Own” After It’s Revealed He Donated $70 Million To School
As the college admissions scandal continues to rock Hollywood and the academic world, many are still trying to wrap their heads around the whole thing. However, one person who isn’t letting it affect him is hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre—whose daughter was just accepted to USC, the school at the center of the scandal.
Dr. Dre took to social media, specifically Instagram, to boast about his daughter, Truly Young, getting accepted to USC. Although, it wasn’t as simple as that because Dre also used the opportunity to shade those who are currently wrapped up in the middle of the college admissions scandal.
He captioned the photo:
“My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!”

Apparently, Dre either forgot how quick the Internet is at digging up receipts or he didn’t realize that he has massive financial ties to USC that could have possibly helped his daughter with her acceptance.
For those who don’t know, back in 2013 Dr. Dre donated a whopping $70 million dollars to USC…and even has a building (Andre Young Academy of Arts and Technology) at the university named after him. When social media discovered this tidbit of information, they quickly called Dre out, reminding him that donating such an enormous amount of money is not exactly getting in
“all on her own.”
The backlash was so harsh and immediate, that both Dre and his daughter deleted their initial posts. Critics were quick to point out, that while he may not have done anything illegal to ensure his daughter’s acceptance to USC, donating almost $100 million dollars to the university is far from getting accepted on your own merit.
At press time, neither Dr. Dre nor Truly Young has publicly commented on the backlash.
