Jussie Smollett – 1 Of The Brothers Involved In Actor’s Attack Wins Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament
As actor Jussie Smollett attempts to move forward with his life and career following the highly-publicized hate crime attack he suffered, one of the other central figures in the case appears to be trying to do the same. Abel Osundairo, one of the two Nigerian brothers accused of attacking Smollett, has just won the coveted Golden Gloves boxing tournament.
According to reports, Abimbola “Abel” Osundairo won the annual Chicago Golden Gloves boxing competition by technical knockout in the first round on April 12th at the Cicero Stadium. Osundairo won the senior novice division at the 178-pound limit. The Golden Gloves tournament is subdivided by fighter weights, ages and experience levels, and Osundairo fought in the division for fighters age 21 to 35 with less fight experience.

While Smollett managed a legal victory when all 16 felony counts against him were dropped (and his record cleared) in late March, he is now being sued by the city of Chicago for $130K to recoup the cost of the hate crime prob to the city.
Additionally, just after news broke that charges against Smollett were dropped, Gloria Schmidt, the attorney for the Osundairo brothers, including brother Ola, quit as their attorney because they refused to make a public statement regarding the incident. The Osundairo brothers are in the clear legally and have not (nor were they ever) charged with anything.
