Lee Daniels Is Searching for A New Network for ‘Star’ – “I’m Not Letting Them Stop The Culture!”
Lee Daniels is assuring fans that he isn’t giving up on his hit Fox show, “Star,” without a fight. Earlier this month, we learned that Fox chose not to renew the “Empire” spinoff starring Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady, Queen Latifah, Amiyah Scott, and Quincy Brown. Rumors suggest that the cancellation was a result of poor ratings.
Since news of “Star’s” cancelling broke, petitions were launched by fans to bring the show back. Creator, Lee Daniels, is reportedly working tirelessly to find a new network home for the show. According to reports,the musical drama has already been shopped to to multiple outlets, including BET and OWN.

Lee says fans could have an answer on the show’s future soon. An Instagram post from the writer/director reads:
“@theoriginalbigdaddy Fighting guys! Will know this week… or top of next! I’m NOT letting them STOP the CULTURE.. SORRY!!”

“Star” aired for three seasons on Fox, with cameos from industry favorites such as Brandy, Patti Labelle, Teyana Taylor, Mike Epps, and Missy Elliott.
