Nipsey Hussle Murder Suspect Eric Holder Will Stand Trial, Judge Denies Defense Attempt To Dismiss Case
Eric Holder, Jr., the man accused of murdering Nipsey Hussle (real name Ermias Joseph Asghedom) will stand trial. On Thursday (Nov. 14th), Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert J. Perry said in rejecting defense attorney Lowynn Young’s motion to dismiss two counts of attempted murder against Eric Holder Jr.
The court finds that there is enough to go to the jury.
The 29-year-old is accused of shooting and killing the rapper, who was 33 at the time of his death, in Los Angeles.
The incident happened outside of Nipsey Hussle’s store on March 31st, in Hyde Park.
In rejecting the defense request, the judge said there is enough evidence to go to jury.
Eric Holder was indicted May 9 on one count each of murder and possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm.
The indictment also includes allegations that he personally and intentionally discharged a handgun and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.
The trial could begin early next year.
No additional details about the case have been released.
