The Maryland police officer behind the disturbing video of ex-NBA star Delonte West has now been reportedly suspended. As reported, the 36-year-old was being questioned for his alleged involvement in a physical altercation in the Washington D.C.

As the video became viral, on Tuesday (Jan. 21st), Prince George’s County Police said they learned that an officer shot the video of West sitting on the curb. Immediately, an investigation followed, and the suspension was decided hours afterwards on the same day.
The other video shows a man being beaten in the middle of a road.

Many took to social media in support of West including ex-NFL star, Dez Bryant who came to his defense after several memes and GIFs of the former athlete became an online sensation.

Sports reporter Taylor Rooks also join Bryant in support of West’s distributing clip by calling out all who shared online.

His college teammate Jameer Nelson also stood by him.


Phil Martelli, who coached West during his St. Joe tenor co-signed Jameer Nelson’s tweet and said there’s an effort to get West the professional help he needs.
“Over the past several hours I have talked with many who are willing to help – please read and embrace Jameer’s wisdom – we are reaching out to our basketball network to get the professional help Delonte needs. This is so very painful”

West played in the NBA for eight seasons. The former first round pick was originally drafted with the No. 24 pick in the 2004 NBA Draft and also spent time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericksand Seattle SuperSonics.
