‘Insecure’ Season 5 Already In The Works w/ Virtual Writers’ Room
Writers of “Insecure” aren’t slowing down anytime soon. It was previously reported that “Insecure” has been renewed for its 5th season. While fans of the hit HBO show celebrate Issa Rae and the team are taking no days off. She shared a snapshot of the virtual writers’ room, which includes the show’s writers and the showrunner, Prentice Penny. with the caption,
“back to work for @insecurehbo Season 5 #insecurehbo.”

Issa Rae has had her hands full with a number of projects outside of “Insecure”. In 2019, she executive produced and guest-starred in A Black Lady Sketch Show, and in 2020 she also executive produced and starred in The Love Birds alongside actor, Kumail Nanjiani.
Only a few episodes into season 4 of “Insecure,” fans have already expressed their beliefs that Issa Rae’s character, Issa Dee, and her long-term ex-boyfriend, Lawrence, played by Jay Ellis, will get back together. Loyal viewers know that Issa and Lawrence broke up in episode two and avid fans have not held back on requesting the writers get them back together.
Issa Rae celebrated the opening of the season with a virtual block party, posting a video of her popping a bottle.
“So it’s time to pop this bottle. Lowkey thirsty. Lowkey season four. Ooh, I’m so hype.”
