Tia Mowry Says Her Mom Was Racially Profiled On First-Class Flights: There Were Several Times She Was Asked If She Was In The Right Seat
Actress Tia Mowry, and her siblings, grew up in a bi-racial home, and she decided to take to social media amidst the current race war in America, to share a few moments where her mother, Darlene Mowry, who is black was racially profiled when she was growing up. She says that she saw early on the privilege her white father had, opposed to her mom. She captioned a photo of her and her twin sister, Tamera Mowry, with their mom:
“#tbt This is a photo of my beautiful mother. Growing up #biracial, mom is black and dad is white, it was very clear to me seeing the #privilege that my dad had as opposed to my #mother. Some examples, during our #sistersister days when traveling for work we would often fly first class. There were several times my mother was asked if she was in the right seat. Another incident that stood out for me was when we were buying our first home as a family. My mother walked in the house model with us asking for a brochure. A person had said the houses were sold out. My dad walked in and it was a different story. My #goalis to see #change. This year has been a tough year. Several tears have been shed. However, a friend told me these tears will not be wasted. The #love and #support around the world has kept me going. A #change is gonna come.”

Rapper LL Cool J recently caught backlash for his comments about bi-racial children, and how they are dealing with the current race war, he tweeted Saturday (May 30th),
“Imagine how people raising bi racial children feel right now!!!!!! This is crazy!!!!!!”

After being attacked on social media he offered anyone who wanted to debate on the matter to join him on Instagram live, tagging a celebrity who’s very vocal on racial issues, TV host Amanda Seales.

Amanda Seales didn’t seem very interested in going live with the rapper and replied,
