Madonna Accused Of Spreading False COVID-19 Information, Post Deleted By Instagram
Madonna was recently accused of spreading false material by social media platform, Instagram. IG pulled down a post on pop icon Madonna’s page which shared a COVID-19 conspiracy theory. In the video, Houston’s Dr. Stella Immanuel claimed to have treated 350 coronavirus patients with hydroxychloroquine. According to The Guardian, Madonna’s caption read:
“They would rather let fear control the people and let the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.”

Instagram deleted Madonna’s post for spreading misinformation about the global pandemic. IG spokesperson Raki Wane provided this statement on wiping the video from the singer’s timeline:
“People who reacted to, commented on, or shared this video, will see messages directing them to authoritative information about the virus.”
This is particularly interesting because Madonna tested positive for coronavirus antibodies in May – meaning she had the virus at one point. Announcing her donation towards finding a cure, she said that she and crew-members from her 2019 tour all assumed they had the flu.
