Kandi Burruss & Todd Tucker Are Opening A New Steak & Seafood Restaurant In Atlanta

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss and her TV producer husband, Todd Tucker, have set out on a new restaurant venture.

The couple had announced Tuesday (Aug. 11) that they’re opening a new steak and seafood restaurant in the Southwest Atlanta area named after their eight-month-old baby girl, Blaze. Todd Tucker, 47 took to Instagram to talk about this new venture in the caption under a photo of the entrance:

“I live in Southwest Atlanta and always asked why we don’t have certain restaurants in our area (Black Area).”

He continued and said he’s taking matters into his own hands.

“But I’m not asking any more! I will build what we want and what we need in our communities! They better not let me figure out how to build my own grocery store! blackowned #buytheblock #liveinourcommunity”

The pair opened a soul food restaurant in Atlanta back in 2017, Old Lady Gang Restaurant, or popularly referred to as OLG, which was inspired by the personalities and cooking skills of Kandi Burruss’ mother Joyce Jones and her two aunts Bertha Jones, and Nora Wilcox. The restaurant did so well that the couple expanded and opened a second and third location in Kandi Burruss’ hometown of Atlanta.

Kandi Burruss, 46 reposted her husband’s announcement of their second restaurant in her Instastory and added:

“Our new restaurant coming soon!!!!!!”

Kandi is just full of news as of late. The singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, and mother of three will now have a class taught at Georgia State University’s College of Law about her life and career. In a statement released by the college, professor Mo Ivory revealed why she specifically selected Kandi’s career as an instruction topic for students.

“She has an amazing career, which spans every aspect of the entertainment industry from music, television, and live performance to licensing, apparel, and more. I wanted to study a woman this time around and having worked with Kandi in the past, I knew she was the perfect choice. She handles her business and it shows with her success, but all the while she’s completely approachable and willing to share her lessons learned. I couldn’t be happier for my students to learn the law through Kandi’s career…”

Kandi also released a statement of her own, expressing honor and excitement for being apart of the fall curriculum, as well as stressing the importance of having the “right” lawyer:

“I am honored to be part of this year’s curriculum at Georgia State University College of Law. Attorneys are among the most important members of your team. It’s imperative you have the right lawyers around you to assist in making the best decisions. Every contract you sign is building towards your overall dreams and goals. I’m excited to see the students get a first-hand look into some of the contracts that have shaped my career thus far.”
