Gabrielle Union To Host All Black ‘Friends’ Cast Reading With Sterling K. Brown, Uzo Aduba, Kendrick Sampson & More + Salli Richardson-Whitfield To Direct

An all-Black cast reading of the classic sitcom “Friends” is on the way.

The series, which aired from 1994 to 2004, starred Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.

The all-Black reading will be hosted by Gabrielle Union with the reading, directed by Salli Richardson-Whitfield.

Sterling K. Brown

The cast will feature Sterling K. Brown, Uzo Aduba, Kendrick Sampson, Jeremy Pope, Aisha Hinds and Ryan Bathe.

They will reenact an episode from the third season titled “The One Where No One’s Ready”.

Uzo Aduba will play Phoebe, Ryan Bathe will portray Rachel, Aisha Hinds will portray Monica, Sterling K. Brown will play Ross, Kendrick Sampson will appear as Joey and Jeremy Pope will star as Chandler.

The reading will support Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote initiative and is part of a new series “Zoom Where it Happens,” launched on Sept. 8.

Last month, an all-Black live reading of a Golden Girls episode featured Tracee Ellis Ross, Alfre Woodard, Regina King and Sanaa Lathan.
