LeBron James Refuses To Battle President Donald Trump Amidst His Recent Criticism: ‘I’m Won’t Go Back And Forth With That Guy’
NBA superstar LeBron James says he’s NOT going to engage in a public war of words with President Donald Trump. In a recent interview, LeBron James says he would rather focus on encouraging African-Americans to make their voices heard through voting in this year’s election.
Earlier this month, President Donald Trump publicly criticized LeBron James for being a very vocal supporter of the #BlackLivesMatter movement and the Democratic Party and referred to him as a “hater:”
LeBron is a spokesman for the Democratic party and a very nasty spokesman. Because, again, I’ve done so much for the Black community and people don’t wanna see that and he’s a great basketball player but people don’t wanna see a guy that way. They don’t want to see that. We have enough difficulty during the week, you don’t wanna sit down watching a basketball game and then watch somebody that hates your guts, okay? He’s a hater.

LeBron James, who has not shied away from any controversy surrounding voting, Black Lives Matter, or anything else, reportedly indicated that there wouldn’t be any kind of argument between himself and Donald Trump. He said simply:
I don’t go back and forth with anybody. And I d**n sure won’t go back and forth with that guy.
The NBA standout has noted that his efforts are going toward a voting rights organization called More Than a Vote that he leads. LeBron said that although African-Americans have been driven away from their civic duty of participating in the United States’ democracy through voting, he wants to ensure people, particularly African-Americans, are educated about the importance of their vote:
We’ve been fed misinformation for many years. And I’m in a position where I can educate people and, through More Than a Vote, educate people on how important this movement is, and how important their civic duty is. Not only to empower themselves, but to give back to their community as well.
