Terrence Howard Reportedly Sends Cease-And-Desist Letter To Producers Involved In Releasing His Latest Film ‘Triumph’
Terrence Howard isn’t too happy about the recent release of his film Triumph. According to reports, Terrence Howard has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Cinemark, Digital Ignition Entertainment, Argonaut Entertainment Partners and others, for allegedly using his name, image, and likeness within the movie Triumph without his permission. Triumph features Terrence Howard and co-stars Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte. The inspirational sports film was inspired by a true story and released on April, 30 of this year.
According to the cease-and-desist letter that was obtained by TMZ, Terrence’s involvement within the film was
“conditioned upon the satisfaction of material monetary and non-monetary promises made by the producers, which never happened.”
In addition to that, Terrence’s attorneys are claiming that the producers of the project acknowledged on April 15, prior to the film’s release, that their client’s consent had not been obtained, which meant that the movie shouldn’t have dropped five days later.
The cease-and-desist letter reportedly threatens legal action if the situation isn’t rectified and if Argonaut Entertainment Partners continue to involve Terrence in the
“distribution, advertising, promotion, and/or exhibition of ‘Triumph’ in any manner”
In a statement to TMZ, Digital Ignition Entertainment said,
“The producers made this film with a mission to help advance awareness of Cerebral Palsy and to do our part to promote inclusion in film. We couldn’t be more proud of the job our cast and crew did to highlight the remarkable accomplishments of the writer of the film, who has Cerebral Palsy, and the lead actor of the film, RJ Mitte, who is also diagnosed with cerebral palsy.”
