Travis Scott’s Lawyer Claims Reports Around Astroworld Tragedy Are Full Of ‘Inconsistent Messages’ & ‘Finger-Pointing’
Is there misinformation being spread about the Astroworld disaster?
For the past week, discussion of the Astroworld Festival has dominated headlines across the United States. Most coverage of the tragedy–which left 8 dead and hundreds more injured–has also touched on the backlash against Travis Scott, who continued his set as the ordeal was taking place.
The 29-year-old rapper addressed the tragedy on social media, though he was largely slammed as seeming insincere.

It’s also worth noting that Travis Scott has been hit with numerous lawsuits since the Astroworld disaster.
Now, Travis‘ lawyer is chiming in on the matter. Yesterday (Wednesday, Nov. 10th), attorney Edwin McPherson slammed the coverage of the event as being full of “inconsistent messages.” He first expressed grievances against statements made by the Houston Police Department:
“Houston Police Chief Troy Finner was quoted in the New York Times as saying ‘You cannot just close when you got 50,000 and over 50,000 individuals. We have to worry about rioting, riots, when you have a group that’s that young.’ Yet, just a short time later, Chief Finner states the responsibility to stop the show falls on Travis.”

The attorney continued, seemingly trying to divert blame away from Travis:
“It was reported that the Operations Plan designated that only the festival director and executive producers have authority to stop the show, neither of which is part of Travis’s crew. This also runs afoul of HPD’s own previous actions when it shut down the power and sound at this very festival when the performance ran over 5 minutes back in 2019.”
Travis Scott‘s lawyer added:
“Investigations should start proceeding over finger-pointing so that together, we can identify exactly what transpired and how we can prevent anything like this from happening again.”
