‘Madea Goes To Jail’ Actress Ion Overman Indicted On PPP Loan Fraud Charges
Ion Overman–who appeared in Madea Goes to Jail–is facing PPP loan charges.
Actress Ion Overman is one of 19 celebrities who were recently hit with Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan fraud charges. According to reports, the Madea Goes to Jail actress and 18 others were using the services of a man named Mark C. Mason Jr. Mason allegedly assisted them, filing fraudulent applications that translated to more than $3 million in loans. He reportedly received a cut for helping them and is also facing charges.
Overman is said to be the owner of Bryanston Square Inc., a California business that was founded in 2005. There is little information available about the business, but some sources suggest that it is associated with the entertainment industry.
Ion Overman is best known for her role as Linda in Tyler Perry’s 2009 film Madea Goes to Jail.
Her character was an assistant district attorney who was engaged to actor Derek Luke’s character, Joshua Hardaway. She starred alongside Viola Davis, Keshia knight-Pulliam, and David Mann.
In addition to that role, she also starred in The L Word and Desperate Housewives.
