‘The Real’ Cast Says Farewell To Show In Emotional Series Finale Sneak Peek: ‘We Have Made Our Mark’

The ladies of ‘The Real’ aren’t quite ready to say goodbye!

Co-hosts Adrienne Bailon Houghton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai Jenkins and Garcelle Beauvais reflected on their show’s “historic” impact in the long-running program’s series finale. In a first-look clip of the series finale–which airs Friday (June 3), Adrienne Bailon Houghton, 38, said:

“We have made our mark.. I was talking to my mom earlier this morning. She knows this is the farewell show, and she was just telling me, ‘You guys really did break the mold of daytime television. And it’s so crazy when you think of it that way. There was never a show that looked like us.”

After Adrienne shared her remarks, co host Loni Love, 50, mentioned how the “purpose” of the show, was to “put on people that normally wouldn’t get on” a daytime television program. She explained,

“We were able to talk about things that some people, they just ignore. When you look back at eight seasons, over 1,300 episodes, it’s phenomenal and it’s historic. This is actually a celebration. And we hope that our example, with what we’ve done, can continue.”

“Don’t let this end. Get another show like this together, with fabulous women, because we have a whole future of things that we still have to fight for, like justice and equality. We can’t be afraid to talk about this.”

Loni says she is proud to have been apart of a show that highlighted multicultural people.

“We’ve had deep discussions, and when you have multicultural people on, from different cultures, we’ve been able to cover AAPI, we’ve been able to cover the Haitians, we’ve been able to cover the Latinas, the Black people, the women. We are so proud, and we will not be sad today. We celebrate.”

The series Twitter account also posted a video of the women singing Boys 2 Men’s hit song, It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday while on set filming the series finale. They captioned the post:

In April, it was announced that after eight years in syndication, ‘The Real‘ was coming to an end! According to reports, the daytime talk show had been officially been canceled making the program’s current eighth season its final one after the show’s core station group, the Fox Stations, opted not to renew it for next season.

The Real premiered in 2013 with Adrienne Bailon Houghton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai Jenkins, Tamera Mowry-Housley and Tamar Braxton as the original panel. Mowry-Housley and Braxton eventually departed the show, and Amanda Seales briefly became a co-host in 2020 but left the role after six months. Garcelle Beauvais has been a co-host on the show since 2020.
