Beyoncé Running #MeToo Background Checks On Collaborators For ‘Renaissance’ Album After Former Collaborator Was Charged W/ Rape

Beyoncé is reportedly running #MeToo background checks on everyone involved with her new album, “Renaissance!”

The “Crazy In Love” singer– whose highly-anticipated seventh studio album is set to drop on July 29–reportedly made this decision after her former collaborator was charged with rape. According to reports, Beyoncé, 40, has already allegedly rejected two “high-profile” artists from appearing on the album.

Music producer Detail (real name Noel Fisher)– who won a Grammy in 2015 for co-writing Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s hit single “Drunk in Love,” was accused of sexual abuse in 2020, however, he has strongly denied the claims. Reportedly, Detail was arrested in August 2020 on 15 counts of sexual assault and 5 counts of felony assault for alleged attacks between 2010 and 2018.

Due to this incident, the multi-Grammy Award winner is now vetting her future collaborators. A source close to the matter said,

“Beyonce was devastated when she found out Detail, one of her past collaborators, was accused of rape and sexual assault. She stopped working with him and her team now run #MeToo checks on any potential collaborators. Two songs from high-profile artists have been rejected because of alleg­ations they are facing.”

The insider said that while Beyoncé’s decision has “rubbed people up the wrong way,” the singer “doesn’t care” because she,

“wants to set an example that any abuse shouldn’t be normalized.”

With the anticipation of her upcoming album, Beyoncé has continued to drop more gems for her project on social media. On Thursday (June 30) Beyonce took to Instagram to share the cover art for her seventh studio album “Renaissance,” which will be available on July 29. In a caption, Beyonce explained her vision behind the cover art. The Grammy-award-winning singer said:

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment.”

Beyonce added:

“A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”
