Washington Commanders Running Back Brian Robinson Jr. Shot In D.C. During Attempted Carjacking
Brian Robinson Jr.–a Washington Commanders’ rookie running back – was shot in the leg during an apparent carjacking.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington. D.C., Brian Robinson Jr., 23, was in Washington around 5:30 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 28) when he apparently was approached by two juveniles who tried to steal his car in which a struggle occurred.
Thankfully, Robinson survived the gunshot wound and underwent surgery. The NFL player took to his Instagram Story on Monday (Aug. 29) to let his supporters know that he is alive and well and had a successful surgery. He wrote,
“Surgery went well!..Thanks for the prayers!..God is great!”

According to his coach Ron Rivera, doctors are optimistic about Robinson’s recovery. Rivera said,
“The doctors were very positive with him and he was very positive as well. He’s very fortunate. He’s doing well. It will be a matter of time before he’s back out here. There’s no timeline, but everything was very positive.”

On Sunday night (Aug. 28), the Washington Commanders released a statement noting that Robinson’s gunshot wound was not life-threatening. The team said,
“We have been made aware that Brian Robinson, Jr. was the victim of an attempted armed robbery or carjacking in Washington, D.C. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated at the hospital, where Team officials are on-site with him. We ask that you please respect Brian’s privacy at this time.”
