Common To Star & Make Broadway Debut In Pulitzer-Winning Play ‘Between Riverside And Crazy’

Common will be taking a step into theatre acting for the first time in Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Between Riverside and Crazy.”

According to reports, Common, 50, was announced on Friday (September 16) as part of the cast of the upcoming Broadway production. The actor/rapper will make his Broadway debut and star in the dark comedy as the recently paroled Junior, son of ex-cop and recent widower.

Reportedly, the play follows the duo as they struggle to hold on to one of the last rent-stabilized apartments on Riverside Drive. With City Hall making demands, the landlord wanting them out and pressure from the Church, the play, according to the synopsis, unveils “old wounds, sketchy new houseguests and a final ultimatum…”

He starred in the film “Alice” which premiered earlier this year and recently wrapped production for action-thriller “Breathe.” The songwriter’s other film and television work includes “Never Have I Ever,” “The Informer,” and “Suicide Squad,” among others.
