‘Legendary’ Judges Give Appreciation To Viewers After HBO Max Drops The Reality Competition Series: Thank You Everyone Who Supported The Show

“Legendary” cast members have confirmed the series’ cancelation.

In November theJasmineBrand exclusively reported that, due to an upcoming merger with Discovery+, HBO Max decided to pull the plug on the popular voguing reality competition series “Legendary.”

Yesterday (Dec. 6) judges of the series confirmed that “Legendary” won’t be returning for another season. Leiomy Maldonado, 35, took to Twitter and said,

“Legendary has officially been cancelled. Thank you everyone who supported the show. On to the next…”

In another tweet, she added,

“Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about ballroom and its existence…I feel broken”

Jameela Jamil, 36, also addressed the series cancelation. In a post shared via her IG stories, she said,

“So sad that HBO Max canceled Legendary. It was 3 amazing years with the most amazing crew, so many of whom were from the world of ballroom, and our EXCEPTIONAL contestants, and our host of all hosts, and our beloved judges.”

“Legendary” was a voguing reality competition series that explored the world of ballroom culture. The series premiered on HBO Max on May 27, 2020, and ran for 3 seasons.

The reality competition show centered around LGBT house members — predominantly from eight to ten houses — as they navigated through nine balls (dancing/voguing/walking events), with a $100,000 prize for the winning house. In addition to Jameela Jamil and Leiomy Maldonado, other judges included fashion stylist Law Roach, 44, rapper Megan Thee Stallion, 27, –who left the series after season 2 — and actress Keke Palmer, 29, — who joined the judging table for season 3. The series was hosted by Dashaun Wesley.
