Tory Lanez guilty in shooting of Megan Thee Stallion

The Tory Lanez shooting trial has finally come to an end.

After two years of suspense, a jury consisting of seven women and five men found Tory Lanez to be guilty for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion in her feet.

As you may recall, Megan Thee Stallion, 27, real name Megan Pete, claimed that the Canadian rapper/singer fired shots at her feet as she walked away from an SUV they had been riding in around the Hollywood Hills area during the summer of 2020. Reportedly, she needed surgery to remove bullet fragments following the incident.

Tory Lanez, 30, born Daystar Peterson, was initially hit with two charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle for allegedly shooting Megan. However, right before the trial kicked off, prosecutors added a new charge of discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

During the trial, Megan The Stallion expressed sadness over the way she’s been treated by her male counterparts for calling out Tory for allegedly shooting her. She reportedly said,

“Every man in a position of power in the music industry has taken his side.”

She continued,

“Not a day goes by without being called a liar. This whole thing is about who I was having sex with, not who shot me, and I don’t know why.”

Megan’s former bestie Kelsey Nicole Harris, 27, who was present during the shooting, was granted immunity and claimed not to recall many things from that evening, nor many things she previously told prosecutors. She also shocked some by pleading the 5th during the trial. However, it’s important to note that she previously told prosecutors Tory did in fact shoot Megan.

In addition to claiming Tory is too short to have stood over the car door to fire shots at Megan, Tory’s legal team also argued that Kelsey was actually the one who pulled the trigger. Even though she never directly admitted to seeing Tory shoot Megan while on the stand, Kelsey did deny claims she’s responsible for the shooting.

Another person who seemingly switched up what they initially claimed happened that night is Megan’s former bodyguard Justin Edison. Reportedly, Justin Edison was also set to take the stand and was going to testify that Tory confessed to the shooting in a guilt-riddled apology the following day. However, he disappeared days before his scheduled court appearance. Reportedly, the LAPD is searching for his whereabouts.
