LeBron James’ Signed Sneakers From 1st H.S. Title Game Expected To Sell For Over $200K
Another item from LeBron James’ closet is hitting the auction soon and is expected to bring in at least 6 figures.
According to reports, one lucky person has the chance to own the Jordans LeBron James, 37, wore during his first-ever H.S. championship game. However, it’s important to note that obtaining the kicks won’t be achieved without dropping some serious coin!
The black and white Jumpman Swift 6s that LeBron James wore as a freshman on the St. Vincent-St. Mary basketball team as he won a state title in Akron, Ohio are hitting the auction block in just a few weeks. Reportedly, the classic shoes are expected to sell for over $200,000.
According to Heritage Auctions, which is hosting the impending sale, the sneakers were gifted to LeBron’s stepfather, Eddie Jackson, back in 2000. Jackson says the popular athlete signed the kicks and handed them over following the 1999-2000 Ohio High School Division III Championship against Jamestown Greenview.
In addition to his John Hancock, LeBron also marked the shoes with “1999-2000 State Champs” and “23,” which was his jersey number at the time. The auction house says the sneakers will come with their original box. Bidding begins in February.
This isn’t the only piece of merchandise fans of “King James” can possibly own. As previously reported, Sotheby’s Auction is gearing up to sell off LeBron’s Heat jersey from Game 7, which he wore during the 2013 series against the Spurs, for at least $3 million.
