Maxine Waters Trends After Blasting House Republican’s “Contradicting” Views On Socialism

According to reports, this past Tuesday (January 31st), Waters, 84, testified in a hearing as a member of the US Financial Services Committee to discuss new legislation. The hearing was brought by Republicans who wanted to debate a “non-binding resolution that would condemn socialism” following DirecTV moving to censor conservative news outlet Newsmax.
One Republican rep reportedly stated:
“The underpinning belief in a socialist regime, or socialism as an ideology, is that the system can make better decisions for the people than they can themselves,”
However, Rep Waters was quick to challenge the notion, sharing her issues with the proposed legislation. The California Democrat reportedly responded:
“One of the problems I have with this resolution is, I don’t know everything that you’re talking about when you talk about socialism…There are things that you embrace that fall within that so-called socialism definition.”
Uh-oh??seems my resolution broke @RepMaxineWaters when asked to denounce socialist/communists regimes.
But don’t worry, Maxine. On Thursday you will get a chance to set the record straight w/your vote.

Specially, the politician pointed out friend and colleague, Republican Representative Roger Williams, who received $1.4 million in debt forgiveness. Waters stated:
“I do wonder whether Mr. Williams views the $1.43 million he received in debt forgiveness as consistent with your views on socialism.”
Maxine Waters is out here slaying Republicans and their hypocritical views on socialism. Roger Williams (R-TX) was granted $1.43 million in debt forgiveness but wants to lecture democrats. Republicans= socialism for me but not for thee. #wtpBlue #DemVoice1 pic.twitter.com/QntQ5E7bJP

It seems a forefront issues in government currently is this contradictory view on socialism. As Waters eventually explained, some Republican backed programs such as the PPP Forgiveness Loans could be arguably viewed as socialist policies. Seeing as it was beneficial to conservatives, however, the “socialist” aspect of the program was overlooked. If you recall, many big businesses/owners, including Kanye West, Jay Z, and Khloe Kardashian.

After the hearing, social media users discussed Waters testimony, with many praising the lawmaker for putting constituent needs above governments. Other users, however, seemed to be wholly unimpressed.
