Jeannie Mai Wants Judge To Hold Off On Enforcing Prenup w/ Estranged Husband Jeezy, Claims She Was Rushed Into Signing Night Before Wedding

It seems that TV personality Jeannie Mai regrets signing on the dotted line of her prenuptial agreement.

As you may already know, the 45-year-old and her estranged husband Jeezy, 46, are in the middle of a heated divorce battle. According to reports, on Thursday (Jan. 18) Jeannie Mai requested for the judge presiding over their case to either deny the “Put On” rapper’s recent motion to enforce their prenuptial agreement or delay enforcing it to allow her the opportunity to adequately go over everything.

Reportedly, Jeannie Mai claims that she and Jeezy, real name Jay Wayne Jenkins, started negotiating the ins and outs of their marriage contract just days before they tied the knot. Allegedly, the prenup was Jeezy’s idea, and Jeannie had to rush to find counsel for the negotiation process. The former love birds reportedly signed the legal document the night before their wedding.

Due to the alleged quick pace at which everything moved, Jeannie reportedly wasn’t able to properly look over the contract, which was supposed to include details of Jeezy’s finances, assets, and liabilities, to ensure she wasn’t getting the short end of the stick in the deal. Her legal filing reportedly reads,

“Given the compressed timeframe, it was inherently challenging, if not impossible, for either party to engage in comprehensive due diligence. The result being an inability to fully comprehend, scrutinize, and verify the accuracy of the disclosed financial information, and casting doubt on the agreement’s integrity.”

It continues, noting Jeannie’s “significant concerns about the adequacy and thoroughness of the due diligence process.”

In addition, Jeannie says that the only documentation Jeezy presented “consisted merely of a personal financial statement with approximate values and tax returns.”

She adds that,

“Notably absent were the comprehensive supporting financial documents that would provide a transparent and detailed view of Mr. Jenkins’ assets, liabilities, and overall financial standing.”

And ends her filing with,

“Granting Mr. Jenkins’ Motion to Enforce Prenuptial Agreement without affording Ms. Jenkins the opportunity for comprehensive discovery would compromise the principles of fairness, transparency and equitable proceedings that should guide such matter.
