Jeannie Mai Denies Gatekeeping Daughter – Insists She Is ‘Trying To Keep Their Daughter Safe’ In Response To Motion Filed By Jeezy

Jeannie Mai claims that she is not keeping their daughter from Jeezy.

Jeannie Mai vehemently denies purposely interfering with her estranged husband Jeezy’s parental rights. In late November, the rapper accused Jeannie Mai of acting as a gatekeeper to their one-year-old daughter Monaco. As previously reported, Jeezy filed a motion requesting a judge to intervene to prevent discord between him and Jeannie. Well, the talk show host has spoken and stated that the accusations are false.

Reportedly, Jeannie also said she was more than accommodating when Jeezy asked for time with their daughter by giving him all the requested dates and an extended period with her over the Christmas holiday. Jeannie has now added safety concerns while their daughter was with Jeezy. Her lawyer stated,

“It is essential to clarify that Ms. Jenkins’ insistence on reasonable safety measures being put in place, such as safely securing and locking away all firearms that have been unsecured in the past, as well as having familiarity and properly trained caregivers is absolutely not gatekeeping, but rather a responsible effort to prioritize their daughter’s well-being.”

He continues,

“These requests are grounded in Ms. Jenkins’ genuine concern for the parties’ daughter’s safety and security, especially when under the care of others and traveling across the country, and are reasonable protective measures, not an attempt to restrict Mr. Jenkins’ access to their daughter.”

Though Jeannie has fired back, the Daytime Emmy nominee has requested mediation for temporary custody instead of a hearing. Jeannie reportedly noted that she believed she and Jeezy are strong candidates for that option.

Since news of their split was announced in September, the once inseparable pair’s amicable separation has seemingly crumbled. Shortly after Jeezy’s motion for a structured parental visitation plan, Jeannie suggested that the South Carolina native violated their prenup by having an extramarital affair and requested to be paid for said entanglement. The celebrity stylist also revealed to Tamron Hall on the Tamron Hall Show that she learned about her divorce with the rest of the world.

Jeezy has denied Jeannie’s claims of being unaware of their marital status, claiming that through counseling, the writing was on the wall, and Jeannie was not blindsided.
