Jeannie Mai Thanks Cassie For Speaking Out Against Domestic Violence Amid Jeezy Abuse Allegations: ‘Your Voice Has Been A Shield & Sanctuary’
TV personality Jeannie Mai recently expressed her appreciation to Cassie for speaking out against domestic violence.
The Real alum left a heartfelt comment under one of the singer’s posts, thanking her for her bravery and alluding to her own allegations of abuse against her estranged husband Jeezy.
Jeannie Mai, 45, reacted to Cassie’s statement denouncing domestic violence following the release of disturbing video footage of her then-boyfriend Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs brutally attacking her in 2016, writing:
“In every echo of your bravery, there lies a melody of hope that dances through the silence. Your voice has been a shield and sanctuary for many, including me. Thank you for turning your fight into your light.”
The remark comes just weeks after the celebrity accused her soon-to-be ex-husband Jeezy, real name Jay Wayne Jenkins, 46, of physically abusing her during their two-year marriage. As previously covered, Jeannie Mai accused the rapper of alcoholism and physical assault in a recent divorce motion, claiming that she was abused on multiple occasions. Mai specifically alleged that one incident happened just a few weeks after she gave birth to their now two-year-old daughter Monaco.
Jeezy has maintained his innocence, claiming in a response motion that his estranged spouse is attempting to tarnish his reputation with false allegations because he didn’t want to have another baby with her. As theJasmineBRAND exclusively reported, the “Put On” rapper also claimed that images Mai submitted as proof of the alleged abuse were bruises from a golf cart accident where he was also injured.
