Juice WRLD’s Estate Sued By Producer Over Unpaid Royalties For Popular ‘Girl Of My Dreams’ Record
A producer has filed a lawsuit against Juice WRLD’s estate for alleged unpaid royalties.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, producer Joshua Jaramillo claims he helped produce Juice WRLD’s posthumous 2021 track “Girl of My Dreams” in exchange for 5% ownership and 1% of the royalties. The song, which features Suga from BTS, was the leading single from the late rapper’s second posthumous studio album, Fighting Demons. The record peaked at no. 3 on the Billboard US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart and, to date, has over 14 million views on YouTube.
Unfortunately for Jaramillo, the song’s success might just be a frequent reminder of the money he’s allegedly owed. Jaramillo claims in his lawsuit that, despite multiple requests, he still hasn’t been paid in full. He’s also asked the estate to share with him how much the track has earned since its release. He’s suing for unspecified damages and an exact accounting report.
