Tyler Perry Says It’s A ‘Dream Come True’ To Finally Work w/ Oprah
Tyler Perry is sharing his excitement about directing Oprah Winfrey in his upcoming Netflix film “The Six Triple Eight.”
During an interview with TMZ on Wednesday, December 5, the filmmaker confirmed working with the legendary media mogul was a “dream come true.”
Perry, who has been friends with Winfrey since his first appearance on her eponymous talk show back in 2001, also endorsed the idea of her trying her hand at directing someday. When asked if he could see Winfrey helming a project, he responded:
“Of course, she’d make a good director. Did you not see all the things she did on her show?”

While Winfrey hasn’t announced any plans to direct anytime soon, she will star in “The Six Triple Eight” alongside Kerry Washington. The highly anticipated film, premiering on Netflix on December 20, tells the true story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion—an all-Black, all-female unit whose contributions during World War II remain a vital part of history.
