USPS Abruptly Reverses Ban On Inbound Packages From Hong Kong & China A Day After Announcing Decision
Well, that didn’t last long!
The United States Postal Service has swiftly reversed its decision to stop accepting inbound packages from Hong Kong and China just a day after implementing the ban.
Reports state that the agency announced yesterday (Feb. 4) that it would deny incoming parcels from the East Asian territories, seemingly in response to the U.S. imposing an additional 10% tariff on Chinese goods amid President Trump’s ongoing tariff disputes with China, Mexico, and Canada.

In a brief statement, USPS said it will work with Customs and Border Protection to establish a collection process for the new tariffs, aiming to minimize delivery disruptions.
While the agency has not yet explained the sudden reversal, reports suggest the ban could have caused widespread issues for online shoppers, particularly on platforms like Shein and Temu. These retailers, popular among younger U.S. consumers for affordable clothing and other goods, typically ship products directly from China.
What are your thoughts on the situation so far?
