NBA Player Malik Beasley’s Mounting Debt To Barber, Dentist & Sports Agency Revealed As He’s The Subject Of Federal Gambling Investigation
Court documents reveal that Malik Beasley owes tens and thousands of dollars to a celebrity barber, dentist and his former sports agency.
He was first sued by Cairo Cuts, based in Milwaukee when he played for the Bucks. The barbershop won a $26,827 judgment against Beasley in January.
He also owes Dr. Hassan Alshehabi of Delicate Smiles in Minnesota $34,390 after a default judgment. Beasley previously played for the Timberwolves as well.
Alshehabi had already begun garnishing Beasley’s wages from his income with the Pistons, however, the debt still remains unpaid, court docs say.
In April, he was sued by Hazan Sports Management Group Inc., for breach of contract. He’s accused of failing to repay a $650,000 advance that covered costs like marketing to boost Beasley as a top player in the league. The company is asking for at least $2.25 million in damages.
He also reportedly took out a loan with a company in Florida, and cited vowed to use his present and future NBA earnings as collateral.
Interestingly enough, he was negotiating a three-year, $42 million contract with the Pistons, however, those conversations are put on pause.
Meanwhile, Beasley is at the center of a federal wire fraud, gambling and prop bet investigation. His lawyer previously said that he is cooperating with authorities, and has not been officially charged.
