Evelyn Lozada Clarifies Why She Confronted Jennifer On Air, Meeka & Tami’s Fight & More
July 29th the Omega Psi Phi Centennial celebration took place at Washington, DC’s Stadium Club, hosted by Basketball Wives reality star Evelyn Lozada. Evelyn and I had an opportunity to discuss her confrontation with her best friend and reality co-star, Jennifer Williams, as well as the fight that happened between Tami Roman and Meeka Claxton.
Last week was a very exciting episode, but people want to know why didn’t you take Jennifer (Williams) to the side, prior to the show, to talk about the issues that you had with her and your fiance.
I’m very happy that you’re asking me this. What people don’t know is that I actually had a conversation with Jennifer before that. And was like, “Did you do an interview?” And she was like, “Well, I didn’t say anything bad.” So, I had a conversation with her prior to it. When I heard the interview, you know I just kinda felt like, once the dynamic of my relationship changed with Chad, like there’s just certain things you need to fluff, even if that’s your opinion. So that was my whole thing and why I was upset. But, I did have a conversation with her prior to.
So, what people don’t know is that you had a conversation with her before the show.
Yes, I did.
So, she wasn’t totally caught off guard?
No, she knew. She had an idea. You know, I was waiting to get the tape of the interview, but I had a conversation with her before that and then when I heard the interview in Rome, then I was pissed because I’m like….you know to me that just wasn’t cool.
But ya’ll are good now, right?
We’re good. You know what—we’ve been friends ten years. I mean, if our friendship is gonna end over some BS like that, then you know our friendship wasn’t like that to begin with. So, we’re like any other girlfriends…you go through stuff and you move on.
Okay and the fight between Meeka and Tami, did that surprise you at all?
No, I knew that was brewing. I knew that it was. Tami, you know, she has a short fuse. And she has a little bit of a shorter fuse than I do. And I knew that it was gonna come. I didn’t think that it was gonna go down like that, but you know Meeka put her hand up in her face and you get in defense mode. It’s like when Tami put her hands in my face, towards the end of last season…you know, you get defensive–you don’t know if that person is going to hit you.
Any new news on whether you’re going to be on ‘Dancing With the Stars’?
You know what…I woke up the other day, it was on TMZ and I’m just honestly happy to be on the radar and if it happens…we don’t know–they just announce it. So, they haven’t announced it yet.
