Ray-J Says Kim Kardashian Sex Tape Worth More Than $30 Million + Wants A Cut

February 2007 was the first time that much of the public had become familiar with the name Kim Kardashian. That was the month and year when her sex tape with Ray-J appeared all over the internet. Since then, she has moved on to more lucrative people and business ventures. She has become friends with some highly visible women like Paris Hilton (although they no longer appear close), Lala and others. She’s landed on reality TV, has a clothing line, along with a handful of endorsement deals. Less than a month ago, basketball player Kris Humphries.

Fast forward to the present day, we’ve learned that a mystery buyer wants to pay to have the sex tape taken off of the market. An anonymous individual has contacted Vivid Entertainment (the company that first released the video) and offered to pay a large amount for this operation. Last week, the mystery buyer’s Tennessee lawyer contacted Vivid Entertainment leader, Steve Hirsch, with this request. He said

“The party we represent does not intend to distribute or broadcast the tape, but hopes to completely remove it from the market.”

Since then, Vivid Entertainment said that they would come up with a price tag for the tape soon, probably starting at a 30million dollar bid. But Ray-J suggested to TMZ that 30 million is too little. Ray-J explained:

“they better come up with something right … let’s get it over with!”

And by that comment, we know that Ray-J wants in on whatever deal is drawn. Ray J’s lawyer has noted that he has partial copyright ownership in the video and he explained:

“any attempts to transfer the copyright outside of these parameters will result in filing a motion with the courts to seek an injunction of any sale until Ray J’s rights are protected…. my client rarely has a conversation with industry professionals where the Tape has not been mentioned or questioned … no amount of money can relieve him from this nightmare.”

Let the bidding begin.
