Coi Leray Says Nicki Minaj Drama Was Settled ‘Behind The Scenes’ + Claims Labels Are Responsible For Female Rap Feuds

The drama between female rappers is manufactured by their labels, well, at least according to Coi Leray.

Over the weekend the 26-year-old claimed that issues within the female rap game are orchestrated by their labels to sell records. Kicking off the allegations, Coi Leray wrote,

“Idk if you ask me it seem like these labels are behind the female controversy. They see it helps push the music , I wouldn’t be surprised if they the ones behind the fan pages”

She continued,

“Most of these female rappers not even from the same places !!!! Not from the same hoods….why are we beefing?”

However, if you’ve been keeping up with the tea on our site, theJasmineBRAND.com, you’re well aware that despite her running theory, Coi Leray has been involved in a couple of female rap beefs herself over the years. As we previously covered, last summer she slammed Latto over the Atlanta native using her name in the hit song “Put It On The Floor.”

Latto

She’s also had a brief spat with Nicki Minaj. When an X user mentioned the New Jersey rapper’s (rumored) drama with the “FTCU” artist, however, she shared that they squashed things privately, writing on X,

“Yall so stupid. me and Nicki spoke behind the scenes, personally, and I never brought that to the public . Business ain’t work out, that’s okay. I still wish her nothing but the best and blick blick is one of the greatest videos that will be in history.”

If you missed it, in 2022, Coi Leray’s famous dad Benzino spilled the beans on her Nicki Minaj feature for the song “Blick Blick,” before the record was released, which prompted a frustrated Nicki to pull her verse. However, she ultimately added her bars back to the track before it dropped. Speaking on the matter at the time, Nicki Minaj wrote on X,

“I did pull it. But the label hit me going hard. But rlly I had a private convo w|coi & that’s what changed my mind. Not the label.”

She added,

“I just felt bad that she was robbed of telling the world in her own way @ her own time. But that’s water under the bridge now. Good vibes all 2022.”
