This Week In Celebrity Fashion Feat. Jada Pinkett Smith, Fantasia, Kelly Rowland and Elle Varner
In the fashion world, there is this huge battle between knowing when to add a pop of color to your ensmble and knowing when to keep it simple and classy in black. Because let’s face it, not all colors work best on every person. But how boring would you be if you decided to wear all black everything, all the time? Think of LisaRaye’s all white everything *yawn*. But this week, we saw actress Jada Pinkett-Smith show off her stylish versatility on two separate days in NYC. She wore a Peter Pilotto sleeveless sequin embroidered silk blouse and geometric pencil skirt with blue suede heels. Then, we saw her in a black lace blouse, sleeveless leather coat, and light pink pants with a black side-stripe. With one look, she gives us conservative “wife and mom” and in the other she gives us Niobe straight from the Matrix-with a girly edge.Take a look below to see some other celebrities who took a chance with color and did it pretty well, might I add.
Mr. and Mrs. Carter gave us all of our life as they celebrated their anniversary on April 4th in Havana, Cuba. King Bey is wearing a Thakoon Addition Zebra Print Button Down Top and skirt to match.
Fantasia showed off her trimmed down figure in a bright coral trench coat. Did you catch those turquoise heels?
Despite their infamous on-air feud, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj manage to color-coordinate on the American Idol stage. Which diva do you think looked better in blue?
If you are a “give me black or give me death” type of chick, take a look at these songbirds who opted for more neutral tones this week.
Rihanna looks rebellious in a leather cutoff top and pleated skirt.
Elle Varner teases some skin in a black long-sleeved cutout dress.
Kelly Rowland was on her ‘Grown Woman” this week as she made an appearance wearing white trousers and a black button-up.
