(EXCLUSIVE) WE tv Hit With $5 Million Defamation Lawsuit Over “Money Power Respect” Show
Here’s the latest: On January 26th, WeTV and the producers of “Money. Power. Respect.” responded to Kelly Shapiro’s $5 mill lawsuit, demanding it be thrown out.
The network explains despite Shaprio actively negotiating the terms of her contract, she now regrets her decision and would like the court to disregard the actual terms of their agreement and afford her contractual protections that simply do not exist.
They point out her main issue is with another cast member allegedly making defamatory statements about her on the reality show. However, they point to the ethics clause in the contract signed by Shapiro that specifically states she is not protected against comments made by other cast members during filming.
