(EXCLUSIVE) 50 Cent Legal Battle Over Rapper’s Bentley Rims Held Hostage Settled
50 Cent Ends Legal Battle Over Bentley Rims
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) has settled his battle with a luxury auto shop – who he accused the rapper/actor of holding his rims hostage until he paid $31k — with 50 filing docs explaining a deal has been reached and their dueling suits will be closed.
Here’s the latest: On May 1st, 50 filed docs in the case explaining he is dropping his legal battle against the luxury auto shop. He says he has reached a confidential settlement with Phenomenal Vinyl, Rim Source Motorsports and Forgiato in the case. Per their deal, they will each dismiss all claims against the other and their dueling lawsuits will be closed. The terms of the agreement will remain sealed.
Here’s the backstory: Last year, the rapper sued Phenomenal Vinyl, Rim Source Motorsports and Forgiato for using his face to hawk their products without permission. He admitted he hired them to work on his cars but was clear they were not allowed to use his photos on social media, which P.V. agreed to but later disregarded their promise.
He sued for trademark infringement and accused P.V. of holding a set of his rims hostage until he paid $31k, which he says is substantially overpriced in what he believes is retaliation.
Phenomenal Vinyl responded with a counter-suit against 50 Cent, denying any wrongdoing and claimed he gave them implied consent to posting the photos on social media.
P.V. sued the rapper/actor for screwing them out of $21,781.81 for work done on his Bentley Mulsanne. He agreed to pay $31,781.81 for the work but has only paid $10k leaving an unpaid balance of $21k.
