Ed Sheeran celebrated today’s (7/12/19) release of his latest album, “No. 6 Collaborations Project,” by dropping a bombshell on fans and followers. He and girlfriend Cherry Seaborn secretly tied the knot! In his latest episode of his series of interviews with the “Breakfast Club’s” Charlamagne tha God, he revealed that he and Cherry were already married.

Charlamagne asked about the following lyric in Ed’s song, “Remember the Name,” featuring Eminem and 50 Cent:

“Watch how the lyrics in the songs might get twisted / My wife wears red, but looks better without the lipstick.”

Ed Sheeran revealed that the song was written while Cherry Seaborn was still his fiance. He said:

“It was actually before me and Cherry got married and I knew that we’d be married by the point that the song came out. “[I thought] Someone’s gonna hear that and be like, ‘Oh, they’re married!’ I didn’t know how that would be construed, but obviously it’s already come out.”

Ed and Cherry met in school when they were just 11 years old, but started dating in 2015. According to reports, the happy couple had a small private ceremony at their home in Suffolk, England, in front of only 40 family and friends. However, they plan to have a big wedding later on. The Sun’s writer wrote this about the nuptials:

“Ed got married a few days before Christmas. It was very quiet — just Ed’s oldest school pals, limited family and the priest. He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them — just a tiny winter wedding…Neither of them were that fussed about making a big deal about it.”
