Charles Barkley: I Think ALL Politicians Take Black Folk For Granted, Both Parties Suck!
As more than 20 Democrats run to unseat Republican President Donald Trump in 2020, Charles Barkley said he’s not a fan of either side, at least when it comes to how they’ll help the Black community.
Barkley stopped by the second round of Presidential debates in Detroit Tuesday. And it’s safe to say he wasn’t impressed with what he saw.
“I think all politicians take black folks for granted. They talk to black folks every four years and that’s about it… and then do nothing about it. Both parties suck in that aspect.”
He went on to say,
“It’s an economic thing … and that’s what both parties have been neglecting, especially the Democratic Party. Every black person I know has always voted Democratic and, with the exception of a few guys who can play sports, all those people are still poor.”
While he wasn’t afraid to call out Democrats, he’s also not here for Trump either. He shared his thoughts on Trump previously suggesting that four Democratic congresswomen, all women of color, need to “go back” to their home countries, which Trump said are,
“broken and crime-infested”
Barkley didn’t agree with claims that Trump’s statement was “racist,” but he did call him out.

Donald Trump
“I’m leery of calling people ‘racist.’ He says some things that can be construed as racist. Some things he’s said are very wrong and flagrant.”
This isn’t the first time Barkley has came for the Democratic party. Back in 2017, he backed Doug Jones’s play for Senate in Alabama. Barkley said then that Democrats need
“to get off their ass and start making life better for black folks and people who are poor.”
He seemed to get the attention of Democratic National Chairman Tom Perez who said he
“heard Charles Barkley loudly and clearly.”
