Cyntoia Brown Tied The Knot With Christian Rapper J. Long While In Jail
Cyntoia Brown was released from jail as a married woman! According to reports, she married Christian rapper, Jamie Long (who goes by J. Long), while she was behind bars.
Long was previously in the group Pretty Ricky, and is now a Christian rapper. He comes from a long line of musicians as his uncle Huey Long was a member of iconic group Ink Spots in the 1930s. Curtis Long, his grandfather, was a well-known guitarist who played with artists such as B.B. King.
Jamie was also previously married to Pam Long from 90s girl group Total.
According to reports, he and Pam married in 2013 and split in 2018.
It’s not clear when he moved on with Brown or how they met, but according to Tennesee law, they weren’t allowed to have conjugal visits.
Brown was released from Tennessee Prison For Women on Wednesday after 15 years. In 2004, she was sentenced to life for killing a man who sex-trafficked her when she was 16. Former Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam granted her clemency.
She said in a statement,
“I thank Governor and First Lady Haslam for their vote of confidence in me and with the Lord’s help I will make them as well as the rest of my supporters proud.”
She will be on parole for ten years as long as she keeps a job and doesn’t break any laws.
We’ll get to see more of her story, and possibly more of her and Long, when her documentary hits Netflix next year. A book about her journey, “Free Cyntoia: My Search for Redemption in the American Prison System” will be released on October 15.
Congrats to the couple!
