Actress Taraji P. Henson is gearing up to strut down the aisle with her fiance, Kelvin Hayden – but she wants people to know that she isn’t bringing her Cookie Lyon persona with her. The 49-year-old revealed that she wants to keep her wedding simple. Taraji said this about the wedding planning process:

“I don’t do samples. I don’t do swatches. I told my wedding planner, ‘Make it pretty, fun, make sure the food is good, and a bomb DJ.'”

She continued:

“No bridal party- I’m not a bridezilla. Please, I just want to say my vows in front of the people that I love, eat good food, and have fun. That’s it!”

In May of last year, Kelvin Hayden popped the question at a romantic dinner for his “Empire” boo. Taraji shared the first look at her ring on Instagram.

She later hinted at a spring wedding date, using the hashtag #4/4/20.
