Representative Elijah Cummings was laid to rest today (10/25/19) in a massive homegoing service in his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. Rep. Cummings was a proud member of the Democratic party, and coveted member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
He was regarded as one of the most powerful voices of the Democratic party, and key figure in the launch of Donald Trump‘s impeachment investigation.
Yesterday, (10/24/19) Rep. Cummings made more history as the first Black lawmaker to lie in the U.S. State Capitol. Friends, family, and political icons lined up before daybreak at New Psalmist Baptist Church to remember him at his televised funeral.

Rep. Elijah Cummings succumbed to “complications concerning longstanding health challenges” on October 17th at John Hopkins University Hospital. He was 68 years old.
