Tanks Says Kanye’s Gospel Album Should Be On The Gospel Charts: Its Disrespectful To Him!

Singer Tank took to Twitter on Friday (Oct. 25th), the day of the highly anticipated release of Kanye West’s first gospel album, to give his opinion on the project. In his tweet, the R&B singer shared his confusion with the genre listed for Kanye’s “Jesus is King,” album. Tank stated that he felt that the category that the album was listed was a form of ‘disrespect.’

“I think it’s disrespectful to Kanye to put his “Gospel” album on the hip hop charts. This man is clearly about the business of a higher calling. Why can’t his gospel album be a GOSPEL ALBUM? It’s not a hip hop album! I’m just confused so i’m asking.”

Kanye in recent weeks reportedly has delved fully into his gospel calling and ready to walk away from the rap game after dedicating his life to Jesus. Kanye’s pastor and friend Adam Tyson said,

”One time, he told me that he wasn’t going to rap. I said, ‘Why not?’”

He said Kanye responded,

“‘That’s the devil’s music.’ I said, ‘Hey, man. Rap is a genre. You can rap for God.’”

The Chicago rapper also rapped in his “Hands On” song,

“Said I’m gonna do a gospel album /?What have you been hearing from Christians? /?They’ll be the first ones to judge me /?Make me feel that nobody loves me.”

In addition to his latest “Jesus Is King” album, Kanye also announced that a new album, Jesus Is Born, will be released on Christmas Day.
