Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Not Spending Christmas Holiday With Royal Family
Prince Harry and Meghan are pros at doing their own thing and making their own path. And the holiday season is no different.
According to new reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex won’t be spending the holiday season of Prince Harry’s royal family.
While it has the risk of appearing shady, a source with the palace said it’s
“in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”
As for where they’ll be spreading holiday cheer, the representative said,
“for security reasons, we will not be providing further details on their schedule at this time.”
It’s also been confirmed that the two will be spending the holidays with Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland.
They’ve spent the last two Christmases with the Queen and the royal family at her estate in Norfolk, roughly 100 miles north of London.
The decision comes after his brother, Prince William and his wife, Kate Midleton opted out of a royal Christmas and spent the holidays with Middleton’s family in 2016.
It also comes after Prince Harry and Meghan decided to take a step away from the royal limelight. Back in October, it was reported that the couple would share their time in the United States and the U.K. It’s not clear how long they plan to take on this arrangement.
Before announcing the break, Meghan opened up about the struggles of being a new royal and a new mom in the spotlight.
ITV's @tombradby spoke to Meghan as he gained exclusive access to the royal couple as they toured Africa for 10 days with their son Archie.
