will.i.am Accuses Qantas Airline Flight Attendant Of Racism: She Sent The Police After Me!

Black Eyed Peas musician Will.i.am (real name William Adams), 44, took to Twitter following his flight on Australia’s national carrier Qantas. During his flight on Friday (Nov. 15th), just 20 minutes into a flight, the singer/producer says one the of flight attendants became frustrated with him when he didn’t put away his laptop fast enough. He accused the attendant of being racist and rude to him in a series of tweets. He begins,

“I’m currently on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney. I’m sorry to say me and my group have experienced they worse service due to a overly aggressive flight attendant. I don’t want to believe she racist. But she has clearly aimed all her frustrations only at the people of colour.”

The musician says he was greeted by authorities at Sydney Airport after the incident with the alleged “overly aggressive,” flight attendant. Will claims the attendant called the police because he couldn’t hear her through his noise-canceling headphones.

In his tweet, he adds a photo of the officer who was called to the scene.

A passenger from the same flight also took to Twitter. The passenger, named Kate Selway, revealed she couldn’t believe the actions by the attendant.

Another alleged passenger of the flight adds he hid in the restroom as the alleged racist altercation unfolded.

The Black Eye Peas singer was free to go after the incident and he continued on Twitter:

“Qantas your racist flight attendant was beyond rude & took it to the next level by calling the police on me. Thank god the other passengers testified that SHE was out of Control the police finally let me go. Imagine if the police were as aggressive as Lorraine Marshall.”

After revealing his alleged racist encounter with the airlines, some fans came to the Black Eye Peas’ singer defense online. After learning of the nasty tweets being sent to the alleged racist flight attendant, Will advised fans to stop spreading hate.

“Please do not send Hate…This type of disrespect and name calling is uncalled for…I don’t support abuse & attacks like this…I hope that everyone can be more compassionate & understanding towards one another…because it was the lack of compassion that caused this.”

The airline released a statement on the accusations, stating the singer’s claims are misleading,

“There was a misunderstanding on board, which seems to have been exacerbated by will.i.am wearing noise cancelling headphones and not being able to hear instructions from crew. We’ll be following up with will.i.am and wish him well for the rest of the tour.”
