Dwyane Wade: I Don’t Know Why My Wife Gabrielle Union Got Fired From “America’s Got Talent”

D Wade to the rescue! NBA champion Dwyane Wade recently broke his silence on his wife, actress Gabrielle Union‘s, exiting from her judge position on NBC’s competition reality show, “America’s Got Talent.” Last week we learned that after only one season in the judge’s chair, Gabrielle Union would not be returning to the show. Ironically, neither will co-judge Julianne Hough.

Gabrielle, reportedly, pushed the show’s producers to report a racist joke made by comedian Jay Leno to Human Resources. More shockingly, sources say the “Being Mary Jane” alum was told her hair styles were “too Black” for the “America’s Got Talent” audience.

But, her husband Dwyane Wade says he’s proud that she stood her ground while on the show. He tweeted:

“So when i got the news that my wife was being fired-my first question was obviously why!? Iam still waiting on a good answer to that question. But if anyone knows @itsgabrielleu or have heard of her you know she’s an advocate for our community and culture…As proud as i were of her being selected as a judge on #AGT-Iam even more proud of her standing up for what she stands for and that’s US.”

D Wade continued:

“So [cheers emoji] to you @itsgabrielleu on not losing sight of the lessons we’ve talked about teaching our daughter and for kicking a** while you were on that platform. Number 1 judge on one of the biggest shows in the world!!”
