Donald Trump Allegedly Refuses To Unveil Barack Obama Portrait, Accuses Obama Of Trying To Remove Him From Office

Former President Barack Obama will not be getting a presidential portrait unveiling anytime soon as current President Donald Trump reportedly has no plans of scheduling one in the near future. The tradition has been set in place since 1978 when Jimmy Carter did a portrait unveiling with his predecessor Gerald Ford. Since then, all of the following presidents were there for each other’s portrait unveilings, even if they had differing political stances. However, reports say that President Trump won’t be doing an unveiling as long as he is in office.

The tension between the two comes as President Trump has accused Barack Obama of being involved in some type of movement to remove him from office. While Trump has not specified what he thinks Obama did exactly, he stated at a press conference at the White House on Monday (May 18),

“I have no doubt that they were involved in this hoax, one of the worst things ever to befall this country in terms of political scandal”

Donald Trump also accuses the former vice president and current candidate for the President of the United States, Joe Biden, of also being involved in the “hoax”.

This portrait tension comes also as former president Obama spoke at the virtual commencement speech for HBCU graduates where he also criticized President Trump and his administration for their handling of the current COVID-19 pandemic. He stated,

“More than anything, this pandemic has fully, finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing. A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge.”

President Obama was not the only person that criticized Trump lately, as CNN anchor Don Lemon had some questions for the current president.

Don Lemon attributed Trump’s irrational blaming of the coronavirus outbreak on President Barack Obama. Don Lemon responded by alluding that Trump is jealous of Obama:

“What is it about President Obama that really gets under your skin? Is it because he’s smarter than you? Better-educated? Made it on his own, didn’t need daddy’s help? Wife is more accomplished? Better looking?What is it? What is it about him? That he’s a Black man that’s accomplished- became president? That he punked you on the whole birth certificate thing? What is it about him? Just wondering.”
